We opened the latch on the gate
and ran bare-foot through the cornfields.
It was only from this spot on earth,
that you can look up to the moon
and see the cosmonaut-fishermen,
fishing for radio-waves and treasure.
I waved up at them but they didn't wave back
she told me they used to wave back
but they got fed up of it.

We put our sneakers back on
and tip-toed ourselves into the city library.
She sat on my knee in a magical chair
next to some dusty physics books
and after 30 minutes of sitting there
we started to see everyone without clothing on.
Laughing so much,
we got sent out back on to the street.

She then took me behind an old arcade
where there was a rugged bin with dead pixels inside,
we picked some pixels out and tried to rebuild some characters.
I found Digger T. Rock and put the guy back together,
she found a couple of Pokémon(Charmander & Mudkip)
and released them back into the wild.

After that we walked downhill to a river
and time was paused,
the leaping fish were frozen in the mid-air
the butterflies caught in mid-flight.
We talked for hours and hours,
so much so
it gave me a sore jaw.

At night, on a silver sand beach
we hid our bodies under some gigantic shells.
Under there,
we held each other so tight it brought small-bruises to our ribs
while I gazed into her eyes
I missed the stars transform into space-ships
She told me to look, but I didn't want to
so she kissed me on my forehead.

With one hand in mine, and one on the wheel
she drove me back to the airport.
